Physical environments affect everyone’s behaviour. The notion of the environment as the ‘third teacher’ (along with children and adults) comes from recognising that there are many ways that the physical environment in school, both indoor and outdoor, can either enhance or interfere with children’s learning and independence.

The way the environment is set up and maintained contributes to the overall atmosphere and learning of our children. As part of our planning for our new Early Years and Infants Campus and discussions on how we want things to look there, we have been working very closely with our colleagues in Tu Xuong. APP hosted colleagues from the Tu Xuong campus to show our continuous provision and as you can see from the pictures the children at BIS HCMC have an amazing opportunity to explore and use all their senses. It was great to see teachers and teaching assistants working together to create some amazing learning spaces. We are all looking forward to our spacious new environment to continue to be the best that we can be.
