Last weekend, we had a wonderful ‘Goodbye to TX’ party held at our District 3 campus. It was an outstanding success full of great activities and entertainment. It was an emotional day; some sadness but a lot of joy and excitement for the future. The theme of the morning was “I am a TX Success” and there is no doubt that TX has been a wonderful success over the years. BIS HCMC would not be the school it is if not for the great contribution that the TX campus has made over the years. All the staff, students and parents who have been involved with the campus throughout its ten-year history can be extremely proud of what they have achieved. It will be sad when TX closes late in January but an exciting new chapter at BIS HCMC is about to begin.
I was a very proud Principal on Wednesday evening when I attended the Key Stage Three production of ‘Antigone.’ This play was written in Greece by Sophocles over 2,500 years ago and to see it performed by BIS students in 2017 was quite a special experience. It is a Greek tragedy of family conflict based on values and beliefs. It is a very powerful and emotional play and our students performed it magnificently. Congratulations to our wonderful students and everybody who supported them. A particular thank you to Ms Sargent and Ms Smith who adapted and directed the production and allowed us to share such a wonderful experience.
On Thursday, I spent some time at one of our community partner schools with two Year 4 classes. Our children were having joint maths lesson with the Nguyen Hien children and it was a joy to see them working collaboratively. Our community service programme is so important to us and I was very pleased to see our Year 4 classes contribute so well in this important area for us as a school.
Today (Friday) as I am writing this update I have just attended the Early Years Performance at TX and what a wonderful performance it was – ‘A Delicious day at TX!’. It was full of great singing and dancing and the quality and confidence that our youngest children showed was wonderful. Well done to all the staff and students who put together such a wonderful performance.
Have a wonderful weekend.
