BIS HCMC had a lovely time visiting Thien Phuoc Foster Home this week for our annual Christmas party. Staff and students from all three campuses went to spread some holiday merriment to the children living at Thien Phuoc. The Harmony Choir from AP1 sang several carols and put everyone in a joyful mood! Students from Helping Hands Club at both APP and APS came along to see their friends at Thien Phuoc one more time before the Christmas holidays.
The highlight of the afternoon was a big delivery of gifts from Santa! The staff at Thien Phuoc asked the children what they would like for Christmas, and the wish list was passed along to the Year 1 students at BIS. Year 1 have a long partnership with Thien Phuoc, where the children come to BIS every week to play with the Year 1 students in the soft play room. The BIS students were excited to buy and wrap presents for their friends at Thien Phuoc. They even bought gifts for the staff at Thien Phuoc, which spread even more Christmas cheer. There was such a generous response from Year 1 that each Thien Phuoc resident received a Christmas gift, with some to spare! That’s over 70 presents! Everyone enjoyed helping to pass out the presents and seeing so many smiling faces.
We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to the parents of Year 1, who took time and energy organizing all the gifts. We look forward to another great year of fun and friendship with the children at Thien Phuoc Foster Home!
