Tu Xuong Year 3 Sleepover

This week at TX, Year 3 had their sleepover in the school and for lots of children this was their first night away from their families. The sleepover is an important part of our Year 3 curriculum as it provides our children with the opportunity to build independence, teamwork and resilience. It also is also the first stage of our residential program that is built on each year as the children move though the school.

We started off by taking part in different activities which included, team games, dodge ball and fun in the Soft Play Room. Next we headed to the swimming pool, where we completed an assault course and splashed about with the teachers and our friends. After all that exercise, it was time for dinner!

We ate delicious pizza and a healthy salad altogether in the canteen. It was then time to get comfy so we put on our pyjamas, grabbed our teddies and made our beds for the night up in the Sports Hall. We watched a movie (The Secret Life of Pets) whilst munching on some popcorn; don’t worry we remembered to brush our teeth afterwards. Lights went out and we all fell asleep.

The following morning, we woke up after a great night’s sleep and it was time to get ready for school. A quick change was followed by a delicious breakfast, which was cooked by the teachers and TA’s.

Everybody enjoyed the sleepover and for lots of children this was their first night away from their parents.
