BIS HCMC U19’s v ABC
BIS HCMC U19’s first away game of the season against ABC was a difficult game to some extent due to playing in a new environment. Despite the advantages that ABC had as a home side, it was BIS HCMCwho played better football.
We grabbed an early 3-1 lead including 2 early goals from our vice-captain, Josh Kazzi as well as a wonder goal from Ryan Kim directly from the corner flag. The start of the second half wasn’t what we deserved nor expected as ABC caught up by scoring two goals that were rather controversial. However, BIS HCMC proved to be the better side with our fighting spirit and grabbed a lead once again after a sensational finish from Matthew McKelvie, scoring on his debut for the team.
After ABC’s equaliser, it seemed as if the game was going to finish as a 4-4 draw. As Sepp Herberger once said, “The ball is round, the game lasts ninety minutes, and everything else is just theory”.
Ryan Kim rose to the occasion and broke the deadlock in the final minutes of the game which was soon followed by another excellent finish by Nick Gilmore. The final score was 6-4 in our favour. It was a well-deserved win for the boys who all played their socks off. Next up, RISS.
BIS HCMC U19’s v RISS
BIS HCMC U19’s final home match of the season took place on Tuesday 7th of March against RISS. In this game we really began to prove what we were capable of. Just a few minutes after kick off our amazing shooting accuracy gave us a 6-0 lead accompanied by goals from Floris Hendrik, Antoine Archaimbault and two goals from Ryan Kim and Josh Kazzi who both continued to perform to an excellent standard.
The goal streak didn’t stop in the second half where we extended our lead to 9-0 with goals from Ryan Kim to finish the first hat trick of the season as well as another goal from Floris and Sid Prithviraj. Tired legs from BIS HCMC players allowed RISS to score their first goal of the game, breaking the chance of first clean sheet of the season for us.
However, BIS HCMC absolutely dominated the game and secured a whopping 9-1 victory. For some of us, this game was our last ever game played at BIS and it was great to walk off with a win. Next up, SSIS away.
