APP Health Day 2017

Last Friday APP celebrated Health Day! Everything was healthy from all of the activities to our nutritious and very popular lunch.

We started the day with two energetic and very colourful Zumba routines on the big field. This involved over 800 students! All of the APP students and staff, as well as Year 7, danced, kicked and bounced to the Zumba beats. From there, teachers ran fun and healthy activities within each year group, focusing on learning about mental, physical and social health and the importance of maintaining a healthy balanced lifestyle.

Throughout the day students were busy making smoothies, fruit salads, worry dolls, practicing yoga, meditation, solving healthy treasure hunts, skipping, taking their heartrates, learning how to brush their teeth properly, and the list goes on!

We aim for students to continue to make positive life choices and to be healthy from top to toe and inside and out!

A huge thank you to Ms Lily Gutierrez, our expert Zumba instructor (and APP parent), for leading us in the Zumba workout and to our wonderful Student Council who were an integral part in organising the day and its activities.
