SISAC – U14A Girls Football Tournament 2016-17

The day started at around 12:00pm. All of the girls were extremely excited, however, our nerves were through the roof considering the pressure on retaining our 2 year consecutive title as champions.

Our first match was against our toughest competition, ISHCMC; we went out strong and played good football, taking shots at goal from many positions on the pitch. We scored our first goal and it boosted our confidence massively as we finished the first half. The second half was when we started to panic more. Even though we were one zero up the pressure was on to get one more and secure the win. The final score against ISHCMC was 2-0 and we were extremely confident going into our next match against AMIS.

We had one match rest until our next match against AMIS, a team we had never played before. From the start they came at us with a strong dribble which we weren’t exactly ready for however, we got the ball back and got two amazing goals. We then turned our focus from shooting to passing and getting our plays right and some amazing assists and goals were scored by our hard working midfielders. Four amazing through balls came straight to Maika and she scored an incredible four goals in that match.

Next we faced AIS a team which we beat 8-0 in our previous friendly match so we were confident and excited. They had improved massively since the last time we played them and had moved their entire team into defence making it almost impossible for us to attack. However, with some god coaching tips we broke through and got that all important goal moving us one step closer to the Championship. We had to win the next match against SSIS to gain the 1st place position so the pressure was on. This was the last match our year 9s were ever going to play as juniors so we wanted it to be one that we remember. We fought hard and played with all that we had to get the best goal possible and we got one. One zero the score was and with all of the year 9s on we had some beautiful play and played our hearts out until the final whistle.

An extremely successful City Championship and we kept our title as champions for the 3rd year in a row.
