TX & The House of Thrones

TX this week became the medieval kingdom of Viesteros. Students worked in their houses to take on different challenges hoping to claim the throne for their house.

At every stage in our lives during school and all the way through to work as an adult whatever your profession you have to be able to work effectively with others and have the skills to solve problems that you come across. The focus of this week was to give the students as much experience of this as possible.

After a successful problem solving day with Milepost 3 last year, we decided to roll out a problem solving week for the whole school.

Students worked in their year and house groups to face 8 challenges each. The challenges tested different skills of the children some were mathematical, some physical, some scientific, some logical, but they all had one thing in common. The challenges were impossible for 1 student to solve them on their own. Cooperation and communication were required to complete each one. It was excellent to see our students ‘Learning Together’ so effectively.

A huge thank you to all of the staff involved who ran the different challenges that the students completed.
