Although the evening was tinged with sadness as it was the final ever TX Summer Concert it was a wonderful celebration of the musical skills and talents of our TX musicians. Some of our MP2 pianists got the audience in the mood by playing beautifully before the concert started and were followed by our MP3 percussion group led by Mr Ben who filled the hall with their loud, exciting samba performance.
The MP2 and 3 choir managed to fit in 24 songs in their 4 chords medley and the audience also got to see the video of the Nord Anglia Virtual Choir.
Our brass group led by Mr Mike played a jazzy version of ‘Oh When The Saints’ and then our youngest performers, the MP1 choir dazzled us with some rather silly Disney songs. They were definitely supercalifradgalisticexpialidocious! The string group led by Ms Annabelle played 2 lovely pieces and the orchestra then played a unique version of Pachelbel’s Canon. Chamber choir had a definite Bruno Mars theme as they sang ‘Count On Me’ and ‘Hitmaker!’ – a medley of some of his most well-known songs.
The TX orchestra rocked as they played ‘The Final Countdown’ and then the children were joined by our parent singers for our rousing finale – ‘B.I.S. Yes!’ to the tune of YMCA. A fitting end to a truly spectacular concert.
A huge well done to all those involved in the concert for making it such a memorable evening and thank you for making music such an important part of the life of TX. We were all very proud of you and look forward to hearing you sing and play in the very near future!
