In the Primary Category:

Supporters witnessed our children in a race of endurance involving swimming in the pool then running laps of the field, as they competed in the 10th Anniversary of the BIS Aquathlon. Athletes displayed determination and perseverance to complete their races, earning them the much sought after ‘Outstanding Effort and Completion’ certificate. Well done to all! And for this inaugural inter-house challenge, the winners were Hanoi!

In the Secondary Category:

In the Under 14 category, where students swam 300m and ran 1.5km, Khoa Tran (13 min 37 sec) set the pace in the pool and was unable to be caught on the road by second place swim specialist Zanneth Neo or all rounder William Schultz in third. In the girls event, it was a two (sea)horse race between Jeanette Vo and Mel Chung, with less than a minute separating the two at the finish. Jeanette’s 17 min 15 sec  a super quick time.  HyunSoo Jung and Richard Le Grange combined well to take 1st place in the team category with a time of 13 min 01 sec.

In the Over 14s age group, swimming 400m and running 2.5km,  Nathaniel Vo’s 22 min 44 secs was too quick for second place Baron Hong, competing in an age category up. Team mates Nathan Ng and Carl De Ledekerke Beaufort stormed home to a lightening fast 15 min 20 secs in the team event, over 1 min 30 secs ahead of second place Abhay Panot and Bion Neo.

It was a competitive field in the Adults race, facing a gruelling prospect of 400m in the pool and a 4km run along Nguyen Van Huong. Alexandre Colcho came out victorious in the male event, his 27 min 32 sec a minute and a half quicker than BIS’s very own Mr Hanoi (Spalton) in second place. For the ladies, Christel Rolhang won the race with a time of 37 mins 7 sec and Lim Zhou Simon and Jun took the team prize with a time of 27 min 50 sec.

Plenty of personal bests, achievements and satisfaction by all who competed.

Congratulations and we will see you all next year!
