The 8 students from BIS HCMC were divided into two teams;
- Victoria Fethke
- Daniel Han
- Min Ha Jeon
- Beom Jun Kim
- Jin Ho Kim
- Jenny Lee
- Hi Leung
- Doan Nguyen
The competition was of course challenging, but our students found it extremely rewarding. In their own words:
“Although the first challenge that faced us; the individual round, was demanding, BIS HCMC were quite successful, with BIS 2’s Jin Ho Kim winning 3rd place overall. Next, we moved on to the escape room round, which required us to solve interlinked questions to crack the code of a lock. The team round-tested our critical thinking and teamwork skills again, where we had 60 minutes to solve logical problems that left us 'puzzled'.
The creative round, however, was the most enjoyable, with the task at hand of finding strategies to boardgames truly making us scratch our heads. BIS 1 managed to gain full marks in this round, an impressive feat, winning them 2nd place in the creativity category. Overall, the experience was difficult yet rewarding and will definitely help the Year 12 Student Math Leaders organise the upcoming Junior Logic Competition.” - Victoria Fethke & Doan Nguyen
These types of competitions give the students the chance to showcase their problem solving skills and work collaboratively under pressure. The experience will be invaluable as they look to plan for the Saigon Junior Logic Competition next year.
