After weeks of rehearsing and preparation, 18 very excited BIS HCMC primary children met at the Junior Campus on Thursday ready to travel to Singapore for the 2018 FOBISIA Primary Music Festival hosted by Tanglin Trust School.

The weekend started with a fun trip to 'Gardens by the Bay' where we saw some beautiful flowers, plants and even a rainforest. We even got to balance precariously on some high walkways before buying lots of souvenirs in the gift shop. Then it was straight over to Tanglin School where the hard work began and we started rehearsing in earnest to prepare for Sunday’s ‘Concert In The Cosmos’ celebration concert. It was wonderful to see children from different schools rehearsing together, making friends and showing great dedication and perseverance.

As well as hours of rehearsals we found time to enjoy workshops where we got to dance, listen to some awesome jazz and paint glow in the dark stars, planets and moons ready for our show stopping finale in the concert. In the evening we enjoyed watching all the schools perform for each other at FOBISIA’s Got Talent. One of the highlights had to be our amazing BIS HCMC performance of We Will Rock You.

The highlight of the weekend was the space themed celebration concert when all of the hard work paid off as we dazzled the audience with beautiful singing, playing and even a guest appearance from R2D2. A truly memorable performance. To round off the festival we enjoyed a disco with a delicious gala dinner and a final chance to say goodbye to our new friends before an early wake up call for our flight back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms Beth and Mr Jon were very impressed by the children’s high standards of behaviour and hard work throughout the weekend – we were very, very proud of all of you.
