PHILIP JAMIE HUSBAND_689

Director of Sports / Head of PE

My family and I were very excited to be joining a school with the reputation of BIS HCMC and have not been disappointed with the school, or life in HCMC. I enjoy not only educating the students in lessons on how to be a lifelong learners in Physical Education, but also helping them to be the best they can be on the pitch during extracurricular and sporting competitions.

BA (HONS) in Physical Education, Sport and Dance with QTS, Liverpool John Moores University, UK

Phil joined BIS as Head of Secondary PE / Director of Sport in August 2015. Phil has been a PE teacher since 2002 and taught in the UK at a Specialist Sports College in St Helens before moving to Dubai with his wife Emma in 2008. After teaching at one of the leading schools in the UAE for 5 years, their desire for a new cultural experience took them to a British boarding school in China where Phil was Head of PE. Phil enjoys playing, watching, teaching and coaching a wide range of sports, especially football. Phil has coached football to a high standard, both in the USA and to town and county level in the UK. His interests outside of teaching include keeping fit, being entertained by his daughter, Ruby, and cooking Asian and Mexican cuisine.
