Some of the key annual events include:

Christmas BISzaar

This is the main PTG fund-raising event held toward the end of Term 1. It has become a wonderful BIS community event with many local vendors, children’s activities, visits from Santa, musical interludes and a variety of refreshments.

Wine and Cheese Evenings

These are held at the start of Term 1 and Term 2, and offer a chance for parents and teachers to meet in an informal atmosphere. Details are published on News and Insights during the academic year.

Teachers Day

On this day we recognize our Teachers and show our appreciation.

Quiz Nights

We normally hold 3 Quiz Nights per year for the students, always a very successful event.

Lost Property

The PTG assist the school at the end of each half term by displaying all lost property items outside the auditorium to be hopefully reunited with their owners.

Community Services

The school’s Community Service Project Committee coordinates and streamlines community service initiatives which include a PTG representative. PTG funds raised for charity are spent on projects identified and researched by this committee. With this objective of giving back to the society, this school year PTG has chosen the following activities:

• Supporting to fund two children from Mai Tam organization for their yearlong education.

• Funding the Year 12 students ISS projects. These students are raising money from their project awareness campaigns to help different organizations e.g. Vinacapital Heartbeat Foundation, Kontum Group, Loreto Group etc. Approximately 18 million VND is required to fund all their projects.

PTG representatives are working together with the Eco-committee. They are working towards energy saving, creating green and safe environment.

The PTG also gets involved and organises other events through out the year:

Welcome Coffee Mornings – in August the PTG jointly hosts a Coffee Morning with AP1 to welcome back parents and introduce themselves to new parents of the school. In January we organise a smaller coffee morning for parents that join the school over the Christmas Holidays.

Uniform Distribution – some parents of the school help with the uniform distribution in the last few days of the summer holidays.

Year 13 Mufti Day – each year the PTG sponsors a Mufti Day; we donate money to a Charity of the Year 13’s choice to enable them to have a fun day to mark the end of their time at BIS.

All parents are welcome to attend or assist in any of these events. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact anyone of the Executive Committee at bisptgap2@gmail.com
