My degree focused on developing Inclusive Classrooms in Primary Schools whereby I conducted research in various schools evaluating the effectiveness of inclusive strategies used in classrooms. I stayed on in Europe working at an English school in Cyprus, whilst completing a year of studies at the University of Cyprus for further training in education, Greek language and literature.
The decision to move to Poland and join The British School, Warsaw came from wanting to work at a school where students and staff are highly valued and where the needs of all are met and opportunities are created for individuals to excel.
HIGHEST QUALITY LEARNING
To me, Highest Quality Learning means students commit to a high level of performance that challenges them to reach their full potential. It is all about the classroom environment and teaching students to be in charge of their own learning through risk taking and inquiry. Highest Quality Learning is about building confidence in children and teaching them to reflect on their own thinking processes. Students learn to work constructively as a team, and develop social skills such as active listening, taking shared responsibility and learning from each other. These are skills that need to be developed to make students global citizens of the future. Highest Quality Learningmeans not just teaching subjects, but teaching for life.
