Our Team 5th in the ISMTF KS3 Maths Competition in Toulouse

KS3 ISMTF Maths Competition took place in Toulouse, France, during the first week of Easter break( 27-29 March 2015). The British School of Warsaw was represented by two teams consisting of the following students:

Team 1: Jan Bachowski Y9, Kaat Lambrecht Y8, Duy Trung Pham Y7

Team 2: Petar Kaszas Y8, Jan Kryca Y8, Yong Qi Looi Y8.

All students gave a very good account of themselves and did their best in solving numerous mathematical problems. It is our pleasure to inform that team 1 has taken the 5th place among 40 teams from various international schools. The competition was very close and Team 1 was placed among the best teams through all 10 rounds, leading after some of them and only the last rounds decided about the final standings. Young mathematicians worked hard throughout the year attending KS3 Maths Club every Friday lunchtime and their hard work certainly paid off. Additionally, students sightseed beautiful Tolouse, visited Airbus Museum and assembling line, and attended an interesting lecture of Simon Singh who is an author of "Fermat's Last Theorem" - the international bestseller.
