News from Head of Primary, Zoe Richardson

Year 6 SATs

All across the UK, pupils who are in Year 6 takes the SATs examinations prior to the summer holiday. National expectations are that pupils will achieve a Level 4, two whole levels of progress since the end of Key Stage 1. I would like to say congratulations to all of our Year 6 pupils for completing their SATs tests and showing incredible focus, determination and maturity throughout the testing period. We are very proud of everything they have achieved at The British School.

Year Six Graduation

Please be aware that the Year Six graduation date has been moved to Wednesday 24th June.
The graduation will take place in the school Dining Hall and will commence promptly at 1700.
Students are to be dressed in their school uniform, with correct black school shoes.

Summer Learning Festival

I would like to invite all parents to Summer Learning Festival on Wednesday 17th June, commencing at 6.30pm. With the summer holidays soon to start, several parents have already asked how they can keep their children’s learning ticking over. Students often return in September feeling their progress has really slipped after a summer off. Teachers, having ended the year with the class exactly where they wanted them, have to change gear and remember that they are back at the beginning of a new year’s educational journey: a wake-up call for us all! Happily, the holidays are a chance for all the school-based learning to be applied to real life situations. Please join us at the Summer Learning Festival to explore some hands-on activities you can do over the summer with your children to ensure that they keep on learning (and having fun) during the long holiday.
