My first teaching post was in a Year 1 class in a school in the city of Birmingham. During this time, I became the art and design co-ordinator and inspired my colleagues in teaching Art and Design. I ran an extra curricular Art and Craft Club after school and helped to implement a scheme of work across the whole school. After two years I wanted a change and decided to look for a job abroad.
I was really excited to be offered a job as a Year 3 teacher at The British School, Warsaw in 2003, just as the school moved to the Limanowskiego site. I remember arriving to a newly refurnished school and unpacking boxes in a brand new classroom. I only intended to stay one year or maybe two and then return to England. However, I loved living in Warsaw and teaching. Then I met my Polish husband at the school and now we have two boys. I now work at the Dabrowskiego site in Year 1.
Highest Quality Learning
For me, Highest Quality Learning allows each child to flourish and take his or her learning to a deeper and higher level. It encourages and nurtures independence in each child which forms a strong basis to become a life-long learner. It develops each child for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
