Year 5 Teacher, Regional Lead for MIT for Europe

Prior to studying BSc Business at Queens University Belfast, I travelled and worked across Norway, volunteered in a Costa Rican National park and travelled the world. During my time at Queens University, I realised I was passionate about education and wanted to make a positive change in the world so I decided to undertake the Cambridge CELTA course. After completing my Business degree, I immediately undertook my PGCE in Primary Education at the University of Buckingham. I have taught for 4 wonderful years in Kazakhstan, at Haileybury Almaty. I have taught Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5, while I was also Primary Math’s leader.

I am very excited to be joining the British School of Warsaw, as Poland is a country I am very passionate about and love very much. It is such a diverse place and I consider it a hidden gem of Europe. I know Warsaw very well and I am very excited to settle down with my wife in such a vibrant city and country which has wonderful people, unique and delicious food, stunning landscapes, architecture and fascinating history. My ambition is to conquer the Polish language!

I love exploring new places and cultures as well as trying out new things. I have currently travelled to 38 countries. I enjoy running and football, reading books and cooking.

Highest Quality Learning

I believe the classroom should promote curiosity within children, so they never lose their thirst for knowledge and learning. It is the inherent right of every child to be challenged within their learning so they fulfil their potential. Potential is endless and as a teacher I aim to in-still a growth mindset within all the pupils I teach. This cannot be achieved without trust and collaboration with the whole school community. I encourage children to continually reflect and always strive for personal growth and improvement. We have witnessed an age of exponential growth in technology and I believe we are moving into a new ‘creative age’. My objective as a teacher is to help shape children who will become courageous, inquisitive, adaptable and compassionate 21st century citizens, who can help society make meaningful changes through independent and collaborative creativity.
