I joined the Polish Department of The British School in September 2016 having gained several years of teaching experience in private Polish schools.
I have a MA degree in Polish philology from the University of Warsaw with a specialization in pedagogy and culture animation.
During my time teaching, I have also completed post-graduate studies in speech therapy at the Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw.
In my work I have always been interested in the correspondence of arts - especially visual arts and text (literature/ poetry).
I took part in several creativity workshops, eg. International Summer Academy (InSEA) at the University of Bielefeld in Germany and later ran workshops devoted to image as a text of culture in the Education Department of the Centre of Modern Art – Ujazdowski Castle and the National Museum in Warsaw.
I am an enthusiastic teacher with a genuine drive to share my knowledge and passion with students, and apart from learning the language and culture help them develop their creativity and build confidence, which are essential life skills.
I love to paint landscapes and always put a box of watercolors in my suitcase whenever I travel. I write essays (some of which eg. Looking inwards. On the theme of light in the poetry of Zbigniew Herbert were published) and poems. I am interested in European poetry, art, especially colorism, and icons.
Highest Quality Learning
To me Highest Quality Learning is possible when effective teaching strategies are combined with a good, friendly atmosphere, where the individual is in the centre and personalisation is essential.
