Anna Zygner

Special Educational Needs Teacher

I joined The British School, Warsaw team in 1995.I graduated with a BA in specific learning difficulties one year later and started working as a learning support teacher. I also have Master’s Degree in cross cultural studies from the University of Warsaw as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties. Throughout the course of years I have attended trainings in the UK as well as in Poland, in order to gain more expertise in the area of learning difficulties (especially ADHD and autism). The British School, Warsaw has given me the opportunity to continuously develop my interests in supporting development of students. An international background of the school on the other hand, has been an inspiration for my extended travels.

Most of my free time I dedicate to travels, mountaineering and outdoor activities. I have developed a great interest in Asian countries. Both southern and central Asian countries have given me the opportunity to experience different cultures, customs and traditions of this still not discovered part of the world. The natural beauty of the region encourages me to explore the most remote parts of the region- from Caucasus mountains to Pamir range.

In my free time in Warsaw I enjoy jogging, boxing and cycling.

Highest Quality Learning

Highest Quality Learning seems to me a practical approach that combines several key elements.

Students are given opportunities to discover their full potential in all aspects of life. As a teacher, I ought to be able to recognise the strengths in an individual student and let this become my priority in teaching.

I should be able to guide the student, show what the next step might be, support them in the process whenever needed and celebrate every success.

WHAT THE STUDENTS SAY

“You help me with my lessons.”

“Ms you are patient and you make me laugh”

“Ms you are like Ninja!”  Sic!
