Special Education Needs Teacher

I have been a part of The British School, Warsaw since 2004 when I started my teaching adventure with 3-year-olds and discovered that I would like to go deeper into the teaching/learning process and learn more about supporting children with learning difficulties.

I received my MA diploma in General Education from Warsaw University in 2003. It was followed by postgraduate studies in Educational Therapy and postgraduate studies in Primary Education and Specific Learning Difficulties. This enabled me to start working as an Educational Therapist in The Learning Support Department.

To develop my expertise and become a better therapist I undertook further postgraduate studies in Speech Therapy and Sensory Integration training. It enabled me to incorporate these into my therapeutic sessions.

Furthermore, since I strongly support the idea of lifelong learning, I have undertaken PhD studies at Warsaw University. My research focus is the language difficulties of Polish children taught in the British educational system.

In my spare time, I enjoy rock-climbing; a passion that has allowed me to travel and to challenge myself continually. I am also a keen skier and a mountain hiker and when I need to rest I like to visit the country and bury myself in a book.

Highest Quality Learning

I find Highest Quality Learning a very useful tool in my work. In Special Education it is particularly important to focus on developing confidence in children who often feel frustrated and doomed to failure and to encourage them to be persevering despite the obstacles they encounter in their schooling. It is crucial for their further success to understand the learning process and to know what makes them good learners.  HQL shows them the path that may lead them to future success.
