Samantha McClure

Year 4 Teacher, Learning Leader Year 4 & KS2 Maths

I completed my teaching degree at the University of Winchester in my home country England. My degree consisted of a combination of theoretical studies and teaching placements in a variety of schools and Year groups in England. I then began my first teaching job at my own infant school teaching Year 1 and 2. I stayed here for a year before taking a post at a local Primary school teaching Reception. Whilst teaching Reception I became the school RE coordinator, supporting my colleagues when teaching RE and planning an amazing school ‘Royal Wedding and street Party’.

It had always been my dream to travel the world with teaching, so after a rather nerve wracking flight I arrived in Warsaw to begin my post in Reception at The British School, Warsaw. I loved my two years working within the EYFS team and last year decided it was time for a change. So here I am teaching in Year 3 and enjoying my role as coordinator supporting the science learning taking place at our school.

I like to think of myself as a very outgoing character. I love to take risks, explore and meet new people. One of my aspirations is to visit and experience as many cultures as possible throughout life.

During the school week I like to keep fit either running, swimming, taking part in fitness classes or going to the gym.  I enjoy days in the sun with a good book and making snowmen in the local parks.

Highest Quality Learning

To me Highest Quality Learning means teaching the children to strive to be the best they can be at all aspects of life. I feel Children not only need academic skills to succeed after leaving school but also the ability to apply these skills to the challenges they may face.
