Deborah Dennis

Eleven years in the British Royal Navy as a Radar Operator, I retired when my children were born. I then studied Massage Therapy, qualifying in Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Thermal-Auricular Therapy. During this time, I volunteered as a parent helper at my children’s primary school, assisting with the Reading and Maths programs, as well as serving on the Parent's Association as a treasurer for five years. I obtained my Teaching Assistant Diploma Level 3 in 2015, prior to my employment at BISW.

After experiencing what BISW has to offer firsthand, I was eager to add my skills to the younger children at the school. The range of nationalities makes BISW and exciting and diverse place to work. The exposure to different cultures is so varied that the learning possibilities are vast for all the children, and I relish the challenges that each day brings.

I am married to a serving submariner who is currently working at the British Embassy in Washington, DC. I have two children that attend BISW in Years 8 and 11. I enjoy walking with my dog, reading, gardening, and playing golf.
