Reception Teacher

I graduated from Bath Spa University, UK in 1996 and became a class teacher in a large school in Bath. I continued to study through the university and added additional qualifications in Early Years Education as well as Design and Technology. After 7 years and after being inspired by a former colleague, I applied to BISW for the challenge and excitement of teaching in an international school setting. Through my time here I have taught in the Foundation Stage and Keystage 1 and have been Head of Lower Primary for 5 years.

My family has grown to include an American husband and young son during my 11 years at the school and I am now both a parent and teacher at BISW. I love to travel, so much so that I have now seen more of the country than my (native) husband. I am known amongst the community for my baking and creativity and I love to host a party; though these now often follow a dinosaur or pirate theme!

BISW has a community spirit that makes it a unique place to learn and work. The students and their families come from a wide range of background and cultures and this creates a wealth of experiences to share and build upon. The teachers at BISW are passionate about learning through a practical and challenging curriculum and this empowers the students, as well as resulting in lifetime memories.
