After graduating from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, with a BA in English and Drama, I went on to complete my PGCE in English with Drama at the University of Warwick. I taught for two years in a 14-18 college in the UK before joining the staff of British International School of Washington in 2008 as a teacher of English and Drama.
Over the last three years I have been completing my MA in Education at the University of Durham in 2014.
Since moving to the USA, I have had made the most of the opportunities to explore the area around Washington, DC. My weekends are often spent camping in Virginia, Maryland or West Virginia with my husband and two dogs. It goes without saying that, as an English and Drama teacher, I love to explore the arts which this corner of the world has to offer – especially performances at the Shakespeare Theatre and the Kennedy Centre, as well as the occasional trip to New York.
