Kevin McCann

After taking a couple of years out to visit different parts of Europe and find out more about myself, I decided the time was right to go back into education. I achieved a first class joint honours degree in Mathematics with teaching at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

I have since spent the past 6 years in a high attaining state school in Scotland, where I played a leading role in developing a new curriculum and driving our students towards excellent results at all levels of Mathematics. I am passionate about getting the best out of every student and have built up excellent relationships through numerous extra-curricular activities.

I am extremely excited about becoming part of the team at BISW. I believe fully in the ethos and ambitions of the school in terms of individualised learning and preparing them for life beyond school. I look forward to the challenge, as well as realising my dream of working and living in the USA.

Mathematics aside, my biggest passions in life are sport, music and travelling. I enjoy football (soccer – real football!), tennis, American football and baseball. I am a loyal Glasgow Rangers fan – the only team in Glasgow! I love attending gigs and discovering new bands – something I will continue to do in DC. Whilst here, I plan to travel America and see as much of the country as possible.
