Extracurricular Activities

We have a wide range of after-school activities that help students explore their interests. These activities can help your child develop their specific interests and inspire them toward future goals or careers.

Some of the Extracurricular Activities Available:

After-School Sports

Our school competes in several sporting events. Training sessions equip students to compete in leagues against other schools and clubs in the following sports:

Trips and Visits

The British International School of Washington makes use of the rich cultural opportunities offered in our capital city. For example, we organize educational excursions regularly throughout the school year to enhance learning experiences in the classroom.

Residential Trips

We offer extended overnight trips to enhance the physical, emotional, and social development of the students. For instance, Year 2 pupils have stayed overnight in Delaware to enrich their unit of work “We’re Going on Holiday”. Years 7, 8, and 9 have visited the premiere educational North Bay Adventure Camp in Maryland, while Years 10 and 11 have taken trips to Camp Horizons in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. These experiences always present exciting new challenges that inspire the students in a natural environment.

Global Classroom

The Global Classroom is an innovative and modern online educational program unique to Nord Anglia Education. It runs school challenges where students receive access to world-leading experts to develop their team building and creative skills in an authentic context. Similarly, the Global Classroom Annual Expedition to Tanzania brings students from around the world together for a face to face experience whilst having an impact on the lives of others.
