Unusual Treasure in Reception!

Just before the holidays, Reception children had found treasure in the sandpit, so when they found another treasure map, they were able to follow the directions and were very excited to find yet another treasure box. However they were very surprised by what they found inside! Instead of the gold and jewellery that they had found the day before, there was a pair of teeth! Yes, teeth. We asked the children who they thought the teeth belonged to. The children quickly decided that the teeth must belong to the pirates “…the pirates have forgotten them there!” (Nella).

The children decided they must return the teeth to the pirates and wrote a message in a bottle to tell them that they have them.

(I am sorry I took the teeth)

In the meantime, the children had lots of fun making the teeth ‘talk’ to each other, and of course they had to tell everyone else what the children had said!

The children looked after the teeth carefully and we are happy to say, they were reunited with their Pirate owner.
