Year 4 Ancient Civilisations Museum

This term, Year 4 have been carrying out a topic called "Treasure and Archaeology".  As part of this topic the children chose a civilisation to study.  4A chose Romans, 4B chose Egyptians and 4C chose Aztecs.  Many of the learning activities that took place reflected what the children themselves wanted to discover. This included art work, letter writing, information writing and story telling.

To round off the topic, the each class made a museum.  The children worked really hard to think about how they would present their work, and on Tuesday 28th June the doors to the museums were open.  All the children acted as tour guides as they were visited from children throughout Primary, teachers from Secondary as well as Mrs. Warmington and Mr. Farthing.  During the final part of the afternoon, parents were invited to come and visit the museums as well.  There was a real buzz along the Year 4 part of the corridor and all the teachers were really impressed at how confidently the children presented their work.  We think there might be some budding museum curators amongst the children.

The children put in a huge amount of effort into the work they produced for the museums and we are extremely proud of them!
