Jan Palencar and Niklas Szuchy from Year 7 investigated whether nuclear planes could be the future of aviation. The boys researched how nuclear planes work, the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear planes and looked at different nuclear plane designs. The students created a website and a mobile phone application to share their findings. Darius Vicovan in Year 8 looked at advancing rocket technology by designing an “after energizer” add on that he hoped could make rockets more efficient. Jan and Niklas received an honorable mention for their project, while Darius achieved an excellence award. All three boys should be incredibly proud of their efforts. They learnt a lot from the event and they are all looking forward to taking part in the event again next year.
