Year 3 about animal myths

Year 3s have been busy learning about animal myths.  Using a story map and making up actions, they learnt the story of Why Does Spider Have a Tiny Waist?  Using the main ideas of the story, they rewrote their own versions focusing carefully upon using commas for add clauses, using speech marks and thinking about alternatives for said which conveyed feelings.  They have produced some excellent writing.

Now they are working on creating their own myths by generating questions and possible explanations such as Why does Giraffe have such a long neck or Why does tortoise have a broken shell?  They have produced their own pictorial maps and are trying to write their stories in paragraphs.
