    Susan Warmington

    Head of Primary

    Susan Warmington

After obtaining a degree in Law and Computer Science, I qualified as a Chartered Accountant with aspirations to run my own business.  However, starting a family turned my attentions to the creative world of teaching and understanding how children think.  Working in school is a pleasure, being with children is a privilege.  I have taught all ages, in schools of different sizes in UK and the Middle East.  I am passionate about high quality education.  During my teaching career, I supported colleagues in the teaching of maths and Special Educational Needs. I was Headteacher of a vibrant and successful village school in the UK before looking for the challenge of working in the International setting again.

The clear values held by Nord Anglia Education resonate with me and, when visiting BISB, there was a ‘buzz’ of energy, creativity and warmth which made me want to come and lead the team.

    Clare Vincent

Deputy Head of Primary and Year 1A Class Teacher

    Clare Vincent

I am delighted to be here at BISB and very excited about getting to know my new class, colleagues and host country. I have come to Slovakia from Singapore where I was teaching at the Nord Anglia School for the past four years.

I turned to teaching after enjoying other careers.  I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and went on to work in Journalism and Public Relations.  When my children were young I re-trained as a Psychotherapist and worked in Private Practice and for the UK National Health Service.

    Paul Harrison

Head of Secondary and Chemistry Teacher

    Paul Harrison

Paul has been in education all of his working life and joins BISB after spending six years as Secondary Headteacher at the Bishop Mackenzie International School in Malawi. Prior to this he has held other leadership positions around the world, making a deliberate decision to work in IB World Schools from early on in his career. Paul is an enthusiastic Chemist, with almost 20 years’ experience as an IB Diploma examiner. He still gets a buzz from seeing the spark light up behind a student’s eyes when they “get it”, and encourages them to set their personal goals by “beginning with the end in mind”. He says that one of the factors influencing his decision to come to BISB was the warm friendly welcome he received from everyone when he visited the school early in 2016, a sign of the trust and co-operation that exists within the school community.

    Milina Bires

    Director of Admissions and Marketing

    Milina Bires

After graduating from the Faculty of Arts in 2000, Milina had joined a small company specialising in organising international investment conferences, where she worked for two years. In September 2002 Milina joined The British International School Bratislava. At that time, the BISB was a small school and Milina was one of only two members of the administration team. During the successive four years she gained valuable experience in many fields of the school life from day-to-day business administration to admissions and marketing. Since 2006 she was responsible primarily for the Admissions, which she still thoroughly enjoys. Since 2014 as the  Director of Admissions and Marketing,  Milina has been working with her Marketing and Communication team on improving the communication with our parents and students, looking at different options how to show our current and prospective parents a wonderful work that our students and teachers do at school.
