Gareth Evans

t

Head of Key Stage 3

Gareth has been based in Colchester, England and teaching for the last nine years at Colchester Academy.  He was a Physical Education and Performing Arts Team Leader. He was also responsible for Primary Liaison at the school and joins the BISB after completing a two year National College leadership course, Teaching Leaders.

Gareth trained in Liverpool and graduated with BA (Hons) Sports Development and Physical Education.  His PGCE was completed back home in Colchester, Essex through the University of Greenwich.

Joining BISB is September 2013, already its clear BISB shares my enthusiasm for striving for students to fulfil their potential academically and in physical activity.I recently moved to Bratislava with Alicia Earey also a teacher at BISB and we spend our weekends walking and exploring Slovakia with our dog Poppy.  I also enjoy going to the gym and running, which apparently I do ‘excessively’ but it allows me to sample as many of the local restaurants as I can.  So my moto is Exercise to Eat. We are already enjoying our time at BISB and Bratislava, therefore we hope to settle here for some time.

What the students say about me:

"I enjoyed the trip to Vienna because it was so awesome to represent BISB and  participate against other international school." (Oleg, Year 9)

"I have learnt how play football better with Mr Evans, I have learnt how to dribble with my head up and shoot across the goalkeeper." (Francois, Year 9)

"I like Mr Evans’s lessons because he is always positive and congratulates me so I don’t get frustrated which was something that happened a lot before." (Louie, Year 9)

"I have really enjoyed PE cause I have learned a lot of tricks in football and the lessons are really interesting." (Eric, Year 9)
