Forbes: China Buying In More Arts In Education - Because It Can

Forbes recently featured an article on their website discussing the merits of the Juilliard Curriculum at our two schools in Shanghai.

What role should the arts play in education? That’s a question governments, teachers and parents are asking around the world as they work out how best to shape young minds to compete in a global race. 

Some education commentators identify that with the rise of standardized testing, many schools have become exam factories, focusing solely on ensuring that pupils are prepared to pass their end of year exams. While this might help with league tables, does it prepare young people to thrive in the world? And does this approach to learning turn young people off of education?
