Principal's Message - 21st October

  • juilliard visit

A recent article in The Guardian stated that businesses urgently need innovative people, so we must dispel the myth that creativity is something mysterious that cannot be encouraged.

Our role as educators is to prepare our students to be successful citizens of an ever-changing workplace. While we do not know what that looks like yet, more and more research shows businesses need creativity at their heart. The ability to be innovative and creative is a powerful advantage in any organisation.  This is something in which we very much believe at NAIS Pudong and within Nord Anglia Education. As such, it is our role to provide opportunities for students to flourish in a creative environment. Next week we look forward to our first STEAM-themed cross curricular day, paving the way for what bodes to be an incredibly innovative and exciting collaboration with MIT. To that end, the overwhelming response from Year 6 and 7 students aspiring to attend the MIT trip next year, as part of this collaboration, has been fantastic to see.

This week our students were also engaged in further opportunities to work with our Juilliard curriculum expert Andrea Lee. Having spent time in lessons recently, I have witnessed the positive impact the Juilliard Creative Curriculum has on developing our students. You can read more on this here.
