Well done to all students upon finishing their SATs! We’re so proud of the Year 6s for their efforts in the examinations. In English, we will continue to study the George Orwell classic ‘Animal Farm’, which is an excellent companion to our new Topic unit about governments and rulers. Students will analyse the decay of the revolution as the pigs’ policies grip the Farm.
In mathematics, we will work in groups to investigate mathematical problems. With the SATs over, we will take time to enjoy the curiosity and beauty of mathematics even more than before! We will build towards a joint Y5/Y6 Maths Olympics. Details will be confirmed shortly.
We will continue our final Topic ‘Champions for Change’, which is based upon governments and leadership. Students will continue to develop their own political parties and campaign for votes in the upcoming election. They will canvass opinion of the electorate, to find which views and topics will be most popular.
