The BSKL Award
The BSKL Award celebrates our Year 7-9 students' success. To receive the award, students complete a set of challenges and demonstrate progress in key personal development areas. These include independence, teamwork, leadership, courage, presence, and self-discipline, as well as community spirit.
The BSKL Award enables students to be heard, recognised, and feel valued. It breaks down boundaries and makes them feel part of the school and wider community. It also gives them opportunities for adventure.
Structure of the programme
The Award is a year round, ongoing programme, structured into three levels: Merit (Year 7), Distinction (Year 8), and Honours (Year 9). The levels are achieved by meeting a defined set of criteria. The programme is designed so pupils can realistically achieve one level per year.
Elements of the award
- Endeavour
- Service
