Born in Belgium in the Ardennes, Sébastien studied at the University of Liège and graduated in Communication with a specialisation in Media and Film Studies in order to be a journalist. In 2011, Sébastien applied for a role as French Language Assistant in the UK and started to work in a comprehensive school supporting teachers and helping students to improve their French. As his passion for teaching grew rapidly during that year, he decided to become a teacher and started the PGCE program at the University of Reading as he was firmly resolved to be a teacher and share his passion for languages and promoting the richness of their cultures.
In 2014, Sébastien started working at the Abbey School, where he remained for 5 years as a French teacher, teaching across all Key Stages, and as a Spanish teacher as well. During this time he took part in many Modern Languages events such as a spelling bee contests; French performing arts week and organizing language taster sessions where students taught others different languages like Russian, Japanese, Chinese or organised several trips to France and Spain.
It is Sébastien’s first year living in Switzerland and working at LCIS and he is looking forward to a great academic year. Sébastien is really dynamic and passionate about languages, different cultures and their history. He also likes sports and fitness, music and movies.
