As most Year 8 parents know, the residential is my favourite part of the academic year and this was no exception.
We had a fantastic time in Yangshuo, camping, climbing, abseiling, cooking and much more. I learnt to ride a bike – much to the amusement of the year group. All students had a go at abseiling and so did most teachers.
It can be easy to wonder what the value of these trips is, but for me they are priceless. A chance to get to know students in a different environment, the opportunity to make new friends and try new things, but most importantly, they offer students the chance to show how much they have matured.
I was so proud of each student for their behaviour and attitude on the trip, they were an absolute delight to travel with.
