Whilst academic achievement is not the only thing that matters to us at BSB, we recognize it is a large part of what we promise to maintain and enhance for the young people across the school. To that end yet again our children in Year 6 performed exceptionally well at their end of their Key Stage 2.
Standardised Attainment Testing (SATs) Year 6 Results 2015
- English Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar - Around half our children achieve a Level 5 which exceeds national expectations back in the UK
- Writing - We increased our level 5 writers by a staggering 10% this year from 2014
- Reading - 9 out of 10 children met UK national expectation whilst almost 1 in every 2 exceeded it
- Maths - We saw 62% of the children achieve a Level 5 but a staggering 41% achieve a Level 6 which represents the highest possible achievement of possible at the end of the primary education process

We do not rest on our laurels – the national curriculum is changing quite significantly in English and Maths this year so we will as always continue to develop our teaching to make it the best that we possibly can in order to ensure success for all our young people.
In the meantime I am sure you will join me in congratulating the children responsible for these results, many of whom are still at BSB consolidating their studies in year 7.
