History Teacher

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Also, I hold  a Master’s in History, with specialisations in U.S. Foreign Policy and Race Relations from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Additionally, I have a Master of Education degree with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction, from Texas A&M University in College Station.

I have been involved in secondary and/or post-secondary education, in various capacities, for more than two decades now. Throughout my career, I have taught various secondary classes based on the American curriculum, IGCSE and the IB Diploma programme. Additionally, I have taught undergraduate history and was the co-ordinator of a secondary social studies teacher education program at a regional university in the United States. After six years of teaching in Europe, I am looking forward to joining the BSB family and getting to explore Asia.

I am originally from a very small village of less than 200 people in southwest Texas.  However, my father was in the military, so my family moved around quite a bit and I was fortunate enough to have lived in Spain for three years. Additionally, when I was 16 years old, I won a US Congressional scholarship and participated in an exchange program to Germany. Prior to my arrival at BSB, I taught at international schools in both Germany and Greece. In my free time, I enjoy needlecrafts particularly knitting, crochet and machine quilting.
