I grew up in Brazil in a very musical environment. My parents played an important role during my childhood and introduced me to a variety of musical genres and styles, from Brazilian folk songs to Beatles. I had my moments playing football when I was a child, but when I turned twelve I switched the ball for a pair of drumsticks - it was love at the first sight! Drums initially and percussion later on became my hobbies. When I had to make up my mind about what career would suit me, music was a natural choice.
I have a Bachelor of Music degree and have been performing and teaching music for nearly twenty years. My career as a professional musician is closely intertwined with my career as a music teacher. Both had a role in deepening my understanding of music and have given me the opportunity to pass on what I love to my students.
I joined the Music Department at the British School of Beijing in 2017 and am very excited to be part of this great team!
