Two students, Tom Keys and Michael Szczerba, joined an Austrian team to play real hard ball cricket. Both boys did very well at the crease and in the field, both taking several wickets between them.
Meanwhile, the other students were split into two teams. One team, who were known as BISB Blue because of the colour of their shirts, won five games and lost one. They ended up as joint first place winners!
The other team, BISB Whites, played well and improved throughout the two days and were able to chalk up two very good victories.
It was excellent weekend of cricket. Thanks go to Austrian Cricket Club once again for their hospitality. A big thank you to Elena Kelly and David Keys who chaperoned the boys as well as gave great encouragement to the players during the matches.
However, the biggest thanks must go to all 14 students. They played superbly during matches. Moreover, when they were between games, each player conducted himself admirably by practising new techniques and sharpening already acquired skills. Well done to all!
Mr Kelly
