What is the event?
The event will take place from 6th -13th July, and include a global Model United Nations, workshops, seminars and debates for the week. Students will also collaboratively deliver a presentation for a specially convened meeting in support of the UN’s High Level Political Forum, as well as seeing some of New York.
Who is the event for?
We will select two secondary students to represent us as Student Ambassadors. To be eligible for selection, students must be at least 15 years of age and in Years 10-12; have strong debating and communication skills; be resilient, and comfortable and confident working with new people; be able to travel to New York between the dates above; be willing and able to participate in this year’s Global Goals activities and lead student activities next school year.
What are the costs?
We are pleased to confirm that NAE will be paying for airport transfers, accommodation, most meals and a tour of the UN, for students and staff. Students’ families will be responsible for covering the cost of flights to the US, travel insurance, visas and 3 evening meals. There will be optional excursions to a Broadway show and other attractions for an additional cost.
Students and staff will need to travel to New York from a hub airport in Europe and must be able to be at this airport on the designated day of travel. The school will not be arranging for travel to the hub airport. Once at the hub, students will become the responsibility for the chaperoning teachers travelling with the European cohort.
