Cgantelle Buchanan

Head of Years 12 & 13, Economics & Business Management Teacher

I was born and raised in New Jersey and spent many years in North Carolina before moving to Oxfordshire, England.  After years of working in the art, hospitality and construction industries, I found my love of teaching. I have had the pleasure of working with students and other educators in the US, UK and Europe. I have taught languages and various Social Science courses as well as had educational leadership roles such as Head of Department, Head of Learning and Head of Upper School.

My favourite moments in education are seeing someone grow and helping people connect either to concepts or each other. I aim to reduce barriers for growth and wellbeing through clear communication and personalised learning opportunities so that each person is able to reach their fullest potential whilst enjoying the journey as much as possible. As an advocate of life-long learning and collaboration, I have been a Teaching & Learning Group Leader, founding member of the Czech division of a UK-based grassroots organisation, led workshops, presented at conferences and advised schools on increasing the efficacy of systems to support learning.

For the last seven years, we have enjoyed living and working in Prague.I spend much of my spare time enjoying dog walks and finding ways to weave art and food into our daily lives. We are looking forward to getting to know Bratislava and the region.
