    After completing my degree at Loughborough University, then my PGCE and Masters in Education at the University of Cambridge, followed by two years of teaching in London, I moved to China to start my international teaching career. Having spent five years at Dulwich College Shanghai and then two years at the British School Jakarta in Indonesia, I have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing new Asian cultures, cuisines and adventures.

    Gareth Evans

    Gareth has been based in Colchester, England and teaching for the last nine years at Colchester Academy.  He was a Physical Education and Performing Arts Team Leader. He was also responsible for Primary Liaison at the school and joins the BISB after completing a two year National College leadership course, Teaching Leaders. 

    Gareth trained in Liverpool and graduated with BA (Hons) Sports Development and Physical Education.  His PGCE was completed back home in Colchester, Essex through the University of Greenwich.

Since then, I have taught English and English Literature in the UK, Vietnam, Sweden, and India before arriving in Bratislava, Slovakia.

    Lyn Stanley

    Having completed my BSc (hons) Biology degree at the University of Newcastle and my PGCE at Durham University I began teaching at a school in the UK specialized for students with social and emotional difficulties. It was this experience that showed me the importance of Pastoral Care within a school. A quote I was introduced to, and I now live by, “Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Since my time in the UK, I have pursued my passion for Pastoral Care as a Head of House in Prague and a Head of Year in Shanghai.

    I have taught the IBDP and IGCSE in the UK, The Netherlands, Italy, Ukraine and Argentina. I have taught for 23 years, 20 of which have been in the IB and IGCSE programme. I was formerly a senior examiner for IBDP Business Management for 15 years until 2016 and thoroughly enjoy teaching the programme to students.
