BCB Weekly Challenge As we are currently running as a virtual school and in public isolation, it is important to keep doing things that are different, educational but also fun. Therefore, we will continue to send students and parents a weekly challenge that students can do either alone or together as a family. This is completely informal and voluntary but it could give you ideas for creative and fun things to do at home.

As we are currently running as a virtual school and in public isolation, it is important to keep doing things that are different, educational but also fun.  Therefore, we will continue to send students and parents a weekly challenge that students can do either alone or together as a family. This is completely informal and voluntary but it could give you ideas for creative and fun things to do at home.

The first weekly challenge was to make a fake travel photo.

The winner for this challenge was Gabriella in Y9 - This was very inventive Gabby!

The second weekly challenge was to build a small boat that could hold and float with as many limes as possible.

The winner for this challenge was Sophia in Y8 with a boat that held an impressive amount of 42 limes!!!!!!! If you ever need to build a boat, Sophia is the clear person to go to. Well done!

The third weekly challenge was to make a delicious tasting and wonderful looking bread. Since we were not able to actually taste the bread, the winner was the person who’s bread:

a) Looked most delicious and “bread-like”.
b) Had the most inventive/interesting recipe that works.

It was really difficult to choose the winner for this challenge but in the end, it had to be Florentine in Y7 who made a collection of different bread types. Truly amazing job!

The forth weekly challenge was to make a bookshelf out of paper!

The more (and the heavier) books your shelf  held, the more likely you were to win!

This was not just another normal challenge. This was also a Global Campus Challenge!

The winner for this challenge was Helena (Y7), who has made a book-stand that held up to 30 books. Great job, you have some amazing books there too!

This week’s challenge is all about making rainbows.

They were always a symbol of peace and happiness. And now it is your opportunity to make one.

But how do you make a rainbow?

Well, that is for you to decide...

BUT Mr. McLean has an idea for you...

He has made a rainbow by making a pH test at home.

Look at the YouTube video to see how he did this and also to see the results.

Your task is to make the most creative and beautiful rainbow.

You can either:

a) Follow Mr McLean’s idea and make a pH test at home. You will then test a lot of things around you to get the colours you need to make your own rainbow.

b) OR you can use anything else to make a rainbow that works for you. You can think of using paint, colour, light, books or whatever else you find around/research. It is all your choice!

Being creative will make you the winner.

Remember, the more creative you are, the more likely you will be to win!

Good luck and keep having fun!
