Dear parents,
This particular newsletter was written on Wednesday, after the delayed announcement about a reopening date for schools in Sao Paulo. If that has changed you will already have received a separate communication, if not, a communication will be released as soon as we have official news.
Being part of a large organisation like Nord Anglia gives us access to resources that we could only dream of as a single school. One of these resources that has been improved and invested in extensively by our teachers and education team, is something known as Global Campus. This connects each and every student in a Nord Anglia school, anywhere in the world, a truly global resource. Most of your children may have been introduced to it in the past, either during lessons or exploring the resources independently. However, the improvements it has received, along with our ability to login easier, means this is a fantastic unrivalled resource for online learning.
I must thank Mr. Robert van Terheyden who created a video of instruction to show our students how to login, but it shows so much more, it is brilliant. Please take a moment to watch this video and then encourage your children to access the resources. They can share their work with children around the globe, enter competitions, learn about the United Nations sustainable development goals, write articles, complete STEAM projects and so much more. There are resources for all ages. Enjoy!
On Monday it was my privilege to judge the best costumes in Primary as they celebrated Roald Dahl Day. Over 70 entrants were online proudly displaying their outfits and acting as characters such as Matilda, Ms Trunchbull and the Enormous Crocodile, to name a few. It was a real pleasure for me to see so many children at once and again fills me with pride with how amazing your children are. Thank you to our English coordinators Ms. Bantick and Mr. Chapman who helped organise the whole day with a plethora of activities for the children to enjoy and a special mention too for Ms. Troughton who was a very convincing Mrs. Twit.
I also joined the Secondary Assembly on Monday which was exploring the topic of gratitude. This was exploring with the students how we can often complain or groan about things far more than we are grateful, sometimes ten or twenty times a day! I reflected on this and am now, like I hope the children are, looking for things to celebrate and be more grateful about, which I am sure will make our family members happier too.
It was also great to hear from members of the PTA, particularly Tarsila, our charities coordinator, with an update and thanks for the amazing charity work and the continued support the children have agreed to give to Casa da Criança. You may remember a special newsletter a few weeks ago and the crowd funding we were aiming to support as a community, and I am delighted to report that we have already raised an incredible 18,752.
