After receiving an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh and a masters degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford, I spent a year as a data scientist in a small startup in Prague. However, I soon discovered that I enjoy teaching far more than I do data science and I went back to the University of Oxford to train to become a secondary maths teacher.
I try to help students make connections between various mathematical concepts, which I feel is much more worthwhile (and entertaining) than teaching disconnected topics one by one. I also want my students to learn how to enjoy solving complicated puzzles that are often mathematical in nature. Besides teaching maths, I lead a popular chess ECA and I am always available to help students discuss their future ambitions and to help them with their university choices and applications.
In my spare time, I am a keen traveler and every holiday I always try to discover more of Brazil. Besides this, I like to read, go to the gym and chat about important (though sometimes not so important) issues of the day with my friends.
